January 2016 Measurement

To make official measurement posts easy to find, the titles will be as such:  "Month Year Measurement".

Current length is 18.5 inches, which is where I was in.......January of 2014, two years ago.  :-)

Hair
I just took a "cheater" measurement--that's where I measure as best I can with a piece of string, comparing it to a ruler.  (Why I don't simply keep a tape measure at work I don't know.)  I believe I'm at 18 or 19 inches; I'll have The Mister help me with an official number soon.  But yeah, growing it long again...how exciting!  I've kept a hair length chart from July of 2013, just for my own kicks and giggles.  It's interesting to see where I was, lengthwise, at what time...at least it's interesting for me.  My hair grows an average of half an inch per month, so I can pretty well estimate when I'll reach what length.  Let's err on the modest side and say my current length is 18 inches.  If my hair grows at normal rate then I'll reach waist length again (30 inches) around December of 2017 or January of 2018.  It sounds like a long time I know, but experience has taught me that it'll just fly by.  The important things are to eat healthy and treat hair like a beloved pet.  *smile*

Just because my hair is shorter doesn't mean I can slack off of the care routine.  I still need to incorporate those vinegar rinses, and keep using good ol' Pantene products.  A part of me would like to try using cassia obovata again, but monthly use (as suggested) would be cost prohibitive for my budget.

Nonsense
Started scoring the stacks of teacher evaluations that have been turned in to me.  The Physics department wasn't too bad--26 manilla envelopes, each containing, I don't know...maybe 15-20 sheets to be scanned.  Anyway, Physics is done and waiting to be picked up.  I also started on the Biology department...sheesh.  Their group comes in a paper box and will take me 2-3 days to finish.  Ugh, what a waste of time and resources.

Hello!  First things first...

Hair
Before:
After:

Cheryl, my scissors lady, did a great job as usual.  I donated about 10 inches of hair but still have enough to bun or ponytail.  When I made the appointment, my intention was to get a short, short cut.  The closer the appointment came though, the more I wanted to cancel.  Then I thought, "You big dummy; it's not an all or nothing situation.  Compromise, woman, compromise."  --Which is how the collarbone length came to be.  I like this length a lot, and I look the same from the front as I did pre-cut.  Will I grow out my hair again?  Probably!  As good as this shorter length feels right now, I know myself well enough to admit that I love having super long hair--it's simply a part of who I am.

Nonsense
The Christmas holiday is over and I am back at the office.  I worked hard while at home...cleaning house, stacking wood, cooking holiday meals, etc.  I ate too much junk food but *shrug* it is what it is.  Time to get back to healthier choices and taking walks.

The flood water has us driving the long, long way to town but we are safe.  (Im)patiently waiting for the water to recede.  Our bad weather, i.e. ice and snow, usually happen in January and February, and sometimes even March, so we could get slammed anytime now.  I'm dreading it this year, more so than usual, not sure why.  I just don't want it to happen...

I turned 54 on January 1st, yay!  Next year, double nickel baby.  Heh.
