Hair
Really nothing new or important to report.  I did try the, uh, I don't even know what to call that routine...the one-step condition and shampoo, where the conditioner goes on first and then one shampoos as regular.  Yeah, anyway...I tried it a couple of times and it simply did not work for me.  But oh well, I tried it.  *shrug*  I still haven't measured, but will make an effort to do so for July.  Daily style has been an updo held with a claw clip.

Nonsense
Well, summertime heat and intense humidity has arrived in Southeast Missouri, and you know how much I love that.  (SARCASM)  The usual summer funk arrived with the extreme heat, as it always does.  All I can do is be aware of the negative emotional state and try to keep an even keel.  I've taken to employing all sorts of mental tricks, including counting the days until Autumn (91 days, 23 hours, 3 minutes, 45 seconds, as of this writing), and thinking "cold" thoughts--of brisk fall breezes and wearing jackets and drinking hot beverages to keep warm.  Aaaah, refreshing!

The garden seems to be doing okay; no produce yet, but we got a late start.  The Mister proposed, and I agreed, that next year he build some raised beds for us to plant.  I wish we had done that this year but, as I said, we were running late as it was.  I simply do not have the time, patience, or inclination to weed a full-size garden spot.  I laid down ground cover this year, but it doesn't reach everywhere, so some places are just going to be on their own.  The garden is primarily my baby, although The Mister is the one who tills the thing.  Neither of us is getting any younger and raised beds will be so much easier to tend.

I'll be getting a new boss soon, July 25th to be exact.  My old boss, Assistant VP for Information Technology, officially resigned one year ago this month, but offered to stay on part time until his replacement could be hired.  It took one year to find someone suitable enough, that should tell you something.  My old boss will be sorely missed, there's no doubt about it.  However, I'm pretty excited for the new guy to get here, to see what he has in store for us.  Change is in the air, children...

Hair
Did a cleansing wash earlier this week, using a Pantene product (what else) whose name escapes me, and for the life of me I cannot find online.  Well, I know I purchased it a few years ago but, golly, I didn't think it was *that* old.  I think it's a Nature Fusion shampoo containing rosemary and mint.  Oh well, no matter.  Anyway, after the cleansing wash, I slathered on a (Pantene) deep conditioning masque, letting that soak in while I continued with my shower.  Rinsed, gentle towel squeezing, then air drying finished it off.  Need to incorporate vinegar rinses in my routine soon.

What is it about autumn that makes me want to wear lipstick??  I don't wear makeup period; I can't be bothered, it's expensive, and I think I look fine without it.  (So does The Mister.)  But it seems like every fall I get a sudden urge to buy and wear lipstick.  Could it be I'm trying to make up for the lack of color that autumn brings, what with the dying foliage, grey skies and brown grass?  Perhaps, and that seems as good a reason as any.  At any rate, I'm taking a day off from work tomorrow and one of my to-do items is buy new lipstick...or two.

I'll also be clothes shopping.  Not my favorite activity, however my winter long sleeve shirt stockpile has gotten woefully low and I also need a couple of pair of trousers.  Maybe even a new pair of loafers, if I can find a bargain.  And socks…I need new (dressy) socks.  I'm leaning more toward trousers now that cooler temperatures have arrived.
